Growing up, my family always had a fake tree. Since this was my first year in my own house, without roomates and the like, we got to have a real tree. We also had some friends over and forced them to make ornaments for it, which they did happily. All it takes is a little felt, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and glue. People will go crazy.
